A Message from Barbara Bush

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting our website for A Celebration of Reading! This is such a special event that audiences look forward to all year. Everyone always enjoys hearing best-selling authors read from their most recent books and the surprises that come along during the program.

Proceeds from A Celebration of Reading go to the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, which distributes grants to family literacy programs across the country. Half of the funds raised at the Houston and Dallas / Ft. Worth Celebrations go to the Barbara Bush Texas Fund to support programs in Texas.

We believe that if every man, woman, and child could read, write and comprehend, we would be so much closer to solving many of our country's problems. The abilities to read, write and think give parents and their children the knowledge and confidence to succeed and to truly change the world around them.

A Celebration of Reading helps us bring literacy into countless American homes, and we thank you for your interest in this event. We hope you will join us!
